Our Transportation Review Specialist are responsible for:

  • Validating appointments with medical providers to ensure the request is a covered service under the member’s health plan
  • Ensuring that the appointment information is accurate and the level of service is appropriate
  • Validating post approval appointments with medical providers to ensure the member attended the appointment and received services
  • Researching systems to determine member’s eligibility
  • Determining if other means of transportation are available such as cost-free transportation and public transit.
  • Communicating with Medical Providers and Transportation Providers regarding services and current procedural terminologies (CPT codes, HCPCS, diagnostics, etc.)
  • Reviewing claims to ensure all information is accurate and complete and inputs information into the system
  • Performing initial review of supporting documentation to ensure information is sufficient
  • Sorting, distributing, and storing all incoming correspondence
  • Processing ingoing and outgoing mail

To qualify as a Transportation Review Specialist, you’ll need:

  • High school diploma or GED required, some college preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years data entry experience
  • Prior claims review or medical billing experienced preferred
  • The ability to perform a high volume of data entry work with speed and accuracy; minimum 45 wpm
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work independently and meet quotas and deadlines
  • The ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • To be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel/ To be computer proficient with the ability to learn new systems and tasks
  • To be able to move about the office and between floors
  • To utilize standard office equipment and access filing system/cabinets
  • To communicate effectively and efficiently in person and by telephone.
  • The ability to sit for prolonged hours, office type call center environment.
