First Transit, contractor for the TriMet LIFT Program, is currently recruiting for part-time Reservationists, 25 hours per week, to work in our small call center. The position includes receiving calls and making reservations for clients using the LIFT service. The ideal candidate will be friendly, responsible, have some background in a call center environment and will enjoy working with the elderly or people with disabilities.

Starting wage is $12.35 per hour.

Employees will also receive a FREE annual TriMet bus pass after 30 days of employment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Treat each caller with courtesy, dignity and respect the caller’s right to privacy.
  • Accurately follow and explain policy and procedures as outlined in the Operations and Procedure Manual.
  • Correctly enter data into software system meet or exceed established performance requirements 
  • Adhere to work schedule in order to handle the call volume and contractual requirements
  • Respond to customer inquiries and problems providing timely and accurate information or directing inquires to supervisors
  • Remains informed on new policy and procedures and other general information of interest to customers
  • All other duties assigned


  • HS diploma/GED - Associates or Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Call Center/ Customer service experience preferred
  • Thorough geographic knowledge of the Portland tri-county area.
  • Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills
  • Ability to communicate in English language both orally and written
  • Good organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Good interview skills, ability to ask questions and record answers
  • Type 35+ wpm
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Please note our call center is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Hours are between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm and shifts vary.
