Regional Operations Manager (25658)



Implements strategic and tactical operation plans with respect to driver operations and maintenance.  Manages regional safety initiatives and compliance.

1)            Develops and implements initiatives in regards to operations excellence and efficiency.

2)            Monitors performance of all operational KPI’s (OTP, CSA score, federal rules and regulation, etc.) and acts on deviations from standards or plans.

3)            Selects, trains and mentors driver operations and safety managers and supervisors on key job responsibilities.  Ensures all personnel have been trained and/or retrained according to operational procedures.

4)            Promotes and ensures good labor relations.  Works with Assistant Business Agents and Shop Stewards and handles 3rd level grievance resolutions.

5)            Ensures highest level of customer satisfaction & resolves escalated customer complaints involving drivers.

6)            Ensures adherence to all safety standards and governmental regulations. In-depth Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations.  Conducts Collision investigation and analysis.

7)            Provides ongoing feedback to employees concerning strengths and areas of needed improvement in their regional locations.

8)            Prepares and communicates performance evaluation.

11)          Makes recommendations to driver domiciles, schedule product and manpower planning.

12)          Other projects or tasks as assigned.

Experience & Skills Required:

Work Experience:

  • Operations management (5-7 years).

  • Planning and analysis (3-5 years).

  • Budget responsibility (3-5 years).

  • Safety responsibility (3-5)

Skills:

  • Safety and Workers Compensation (required) Labor relations & CBAs (required), Management/Supervisory (required),

  • Training, Motivation.

  • Interpersonal (required).
