Position Title

Financial Analyst

Job Purpose

The Financial Analyst supports commercial aspects of the business, including Business Development, Strategy, and Acquisitions departments.  Compiles and analyzes financial information under general supervision.  Creates and analyzes weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately.

Major Responsibilities

  • Processes all capital expenditure requests in preparation for senior management approval.  Reconciles expenditures to approvals.  Prepares ad-hoc capex analysis as needed
  • Responsible for monthly, yearly, and ad-hoc reporting for the outside charter business unit
  • Calculates and administers commission payments to various sales functions of the business
  • Provides analytical support to all levels of management across operational/functional units; including ad-hoc reporting and problem solving
  • Facilitates the production of weekly, monthly, year-to-date and year-end financial reporting, including variance and trend anlaysis of results to budget, prior year and forecast.
  • Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings to senior management.
  • May assist in training/mentoring other Financial Analysts
  • Analyzes financial data and reports on analysis.
  • Identifies and determines trends in financial data

Minimum Education & Certification Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience

Experience & Skills Required

  • 2-5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with all levels of management.
  • Highly organized, deadline oriented, possess high attention to detail.
  • Incumbent must be able to move about the office and between floors; utilize standard office equipment; access filing system/cabinets; and communicate effectively and efficiently in person or by telephone.
  • Travel up to 10%.
