Field Technical Innovation Training Lead (29431)

At First Student, the Field Technical Innovation Training Lead will guide and assist location management and drivers in establishing proper operating processes and procedures to support school district route scheduling and operations.  They will provide training and support for scheduling applications as well as the DriverHub Tablet Workflow Application.  They will also manage all tasks and processes associated within location readiness and will properly train resources, deploy the Driver Hub tablet application and support management and drivers during the transition process.  The lead will assist with continuous improvement of the training and support processes and documentation.  The lead will travel to US and Canada based First Student depots for three weeks out of the month for onsite training and support and will work out of the Cincinnati HQ location for one week out of the month for continuous improvement.        

Field Technical Innovation Training Lead Responsibilities:

  • Participates as a SME in school bus operations and leads the deployment needed processes to allow success with scheduling solutions and DriverHub workflow applications. Will become a SME of the Driver Hub Workflow application and will lead onsite training and support. 
  • Provides guidance for locations in preparation for deployment and performs local project manager duties onsite during implementation. Posts deployment support in analysis of operational data and KPI’s.  Assists local management in improvement/growth strategies.
  • As the lead, will have one to several Operations Specialists reporting to this role
  • Assists in the ongoing development and communication of the vision and mission of Project Adiona.
  • Leads driver training sessions and supports drivers in the yard and as part of selected ride-alongs
  • Anticipates and responds to opportunities and organizational changes that contribute to the Project Adiona goals. Effectively manages time, resources, and processes.
  • Supports change in people, structure, and processes that move the organization from where we are now to where we want to be. Explore new or cutting-edge ideas, processes, and technology
  • Takes full accountability to deliver on commitments
  • Establishes partnerships at all levels and within the team or department to achieve optimum results.
  • Supports vision and mission, achieves aggressive performance targets, continuously improves performance, assists others, and recognizes others for their contribution.
  • Is the Point of Contact for the Location Manager, Location Staff and drivers during the training and support process
  • Escalates all identified issues, creates status reporting, ensures that exit interviews are completed and ensures that the location management is prepared to support the Adiona solution ongoing

 

Field Technical Innovation Training Lead Experience and Skills Required:

  • Undergraduate degree preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Extensive logistics and operations background (5 years minimum)
  • Management experience in multiple locations preferred
  • Excellent analytic and computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Displays leadership and has ability to challenge others in a team environment
  • Total travel is expected to be 75% to US and Canada based locations 
  • Candidate is expected to travel three weeks out of the month and work out of the Cincinnati HQ location one week out of the month
