Customer Service - Package Expres

Summary

The GPX CSA will be responsible for the promotion of all pickup and delivery services, including, but not limited to encouraging customers to open an account, ensuring shipments are loaded on the proper schedule, notifying receiving location of delivery, notifying courier of pickups and deliveries, preparing and updating pickup and delivery manifest, up-selling Priority service and products.

 

  • Inform customers, either in person or via telephone, regarding products, restriction procedure, prices, and transit times.
  • Choose schedule that best meets customer’s needs, prepares accurate shipping documents and all needed labels.
  • Request that customers that do not have a GPX Charge Account open shipment for inspection and complete an Inspection Notice.
  • Accept payment for express transaction. Provide accurate change or charge document. Follow proper cash handling procedures.
  • Load all Priority and GPX Online shipments on the bus. Provide Shipment Manifest for driver to sign and enter Confirm Departure in POS.
  • Check In-Bound Manifest to determine arrival information of all Priority and GPX Online shipments. Unload express from bus and transport to storage area.
  • Check-in shipment within 30 minutes of arrival, verify piece count and notify customer. Update the POS Notification List and Notification Detail screens.
  • At what time customer picks up shipments; retrieve shipment, asks for identification and obtain signature on bus bill.
  • Complete Delivery Manifest and enter Proof Of Delivery for shipments that require delivery.
  • Complete Inventory Form daily and check against physical inventory
  • Complete End-of-Shift report ensuring all support documents and deposit information is together. Prepare accounting notice to explain all discrepancies.

Experience/Skill

One year of customer service and cash handling experience. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Basic math skills.  Sales & telemarketing; and account management.

Physical Requirements

Applicant must be able to; consistently lift 50 lb packages, stand for extended periods, utilize standard office equipment; access filing systems/cabinets, and communicate effectively.
