Contract Specialist - Contract Management (28348)

As the Contract Specialist, you will have the responsibility to organize and administer procurement contract activities from cradle to grave. In this role, you will perform procurement and strategic sourcing planning activities, cultivating close working relationships with various internal departments. Your primary focus will be on acquisitions of services and non-inventory equipment and parts, issuing bid packages to suppliers and contractors, handling quotations and proposals, and setting specific standards for bidding and submission. You will play an active role in the negotiation, formation, and issuance of the final contract, keeping stakeholders informed, and mitigating risks to the company.



Key Responsibilities

  • Optimize project opportunities with stakeholders by ensuring all requirements are captured
  • Facilitate bid opportunities via Request for Information, Request for Quote and Request for Proposal
  • Negotiate, finalize and administer contracts between Greyhound and the supplier/contractor for goods and services
  • Identify and implement cost savings and cost avoidance by negotiating new contracts with better pricing when contracts expire, ensure volume discounts are in place, and financial penalties are in place for poor performing suppliers
  • Resolve supplier/contractor issues by identifying issues and working directly with the supplier
  • Develop partner relationships with key suppliers to work on strategies and savings which are valuable to both the supplier and Greyhound
  • Support the development of a Supplier Diversity Program to identify businesses owned by women, veterans, and minority groups that work with Greyhound, and establish relationships with local councils to gain recognition for Greyhound



  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technical discipline
  • P.M./CPSM/CPCM preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in procurement and interfacing with internal customers/stakeholders

  • Strong MS Excel skills and ability to analyze data
  • Experience in working with software systems associated with procurement and contracting
